Day Care - Early Learning Center

With so many demands on today’s families, parents need all the support they can get. That’s why childcare at the Y is about more than looking after kids. It’s about nurturing their development by providing a safe place to learn foundational skills, develop healthy, trusting relationships and build self-reliance through the Y values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Infant care meets your child’s individual needs by ensuring positive attention and development. Because this is a critical time in your child’s life, our infant care focuses on the development of the whole child and equips even infants with essential skills for life-long learning.

Our Early Learning Center provides enriching experiences which facilitate a child’s cognitive, social, physical and emotional growth. We strive to meet the developmental needs and temperament of each individual child by working in partnership with families. Our program, licensed by the State of Illinois, provides curriculum focused on education, leadership and character development. At the Y we believe the early years set the stage for their later success. And because of the Y, children learn values and positive behaviors that stay with them their whole lives. Helping them identify their unique talents and interests and realize their potential today instills greater confidence in them as contributing, engaged and healthy adults.

Child Care - Preschool

Welcome to the wonderful world of preschool! The overall objective for the preschool program is to facilitate a nurturing, fun, and challenging learning environment in which a child can achieve their fullest potential, feel safe and develop a love for learning. Children ages 2 ½ to 3 ½ years old meet twice a week for a two hour session. Children 3-4 years old meet two or three days a week for a 2 hour 15 minute session. Children 4 and 5 (Pre-K) meet three, four or five days a week for a 2 and ½ hour session. See Brochure for class times and fees.

Child Care - School Age

All kids have great potential. At the Y, we help them set and achieve their personal and educational goals. They gain confidence as they recognize the Y as a place where they belong and can feel comfortable exploring new interests and passions. Through leadership and academic enrichment programs such as mentoring, youth government and college preparation, we make sure that every child has an opportunity to envision a positive future, and to take an active role in strengthening the community.

Once children reach school age, multiple influences enter their lives. Y After School ensures that the time after school is occupied creatively and constructively. Our After School programs are offered in partnership with area school districts and various other organizations, offering care after school in more then a dozen locations below:

WE ARE IN A NEIGHBORHOOD BY YOU
• Yorkville School District # 115
• Plano School District #88
• Sandwich School District #430
• Somonauk School District #432

The Fox Valley Family YMCA offers the Before and After School Program SAFE in local schools. Our programs are designed to develop the whole child— spirit, mind, and body. SAFE is a place where children build self-confidence and independence by strengthening leadership skills through teamwork activities created by the staff. The positive adult staff personnel create a warm, caring environment where children are safe and have fun while they create friendships with their peers. The SAFE program has affordable monthly rates to fit your childcare needs.

The Safe Active Fun Environment program offers:
