  Our Mission:
To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

Our Values:
Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility

Our Vision:
To strengthen the foundation of our community by making sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow & thrive. The Y is, and always will be, dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected & secure children, adults, families & communities. Our impact is felt when an individual makes a healthy choice, when a mentor inspires a child & when a community comes together for the common good. The Y nurtures the potential of every youth & teen, improves the nation’s health & well-being, and provides opportunities to give back and support neighbors.

  • 1979
Our organization was created through the hard work and efforts of our Board of Directors who wanted a YMCA for their community.

• 1992
Over the years we grew from community based programs to store front facilities before building a 50,000 square foot facility in Plano, known as the Central Branch, in 1992.

• 1999
A capital campaign was held to construct the 8 lane indoor Aquatic Center at the Central Branch.

• 2002
An expansion was completed added more space to the Wellness Center at the Central Branch.

• 2005
We opened our 14,000 sq. ft. West Branch in Sandwich.  Our current YMCA service area covers over a 28 mile radius, incorporating over 20 communities.  Last year we served over 22,000 members.

• 2007
The addition of the 11,000 sq. ft. Early Childhood Center, incorporating Day Care and Preschool rooms, was opened at the Central Branch.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT CAMPAIGN
Everyone is welcome at the YMCA. Walk into any of our program sites or our facility and you will see people of all ages and incomes. If a person or family is unable to pay for membership, scholarships are provided through donations from generous businesses, foundations and individuals. Over $50,000 from the YMCA last year was used to support membership scholarships and programs that change lives.
The demand for scholarships and program sponsors increases every year. More than 500 individuals received assistance last year. Your gifts are needed to keep the YMCA open to all. Contributions can be made with stock, cash, credit card, or through a small increase to your monthly membership bank draft.

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
In addition to annual contributions for scholarship and program support, the Fox Valley Family YMCA is actively reinvesting in facilities to meet the needs of kids, teens, families and seniors for generations to come. The YMCA Capital Campaign raises funds for capital investment. Every gift, large or small, is important as we look to your YMCA's future.

ENDOWMENT/HERITAGE CLUB
The Heritage Club is an organization of people who have shown their long-term interest and support of the Fox Valley Family YMCA by either a direct contribution to the Endowment Fund, or by including the YMCA in their estate plans. It is the commitment rather than the amount that is the basic factor in qualifying as a Heritage Club member.
